Tropicaliserie

Tropicaliserie is a tropical, modern take on traditional Chinese art. This is a pursuit to evoke the look and feel of traditional Chinese art while running from the interpretations of European artisans that birthed “chinoiserie” (post Opium Wars, mid XIX century). This tropical interpretation features elements of flora and fauna common in tropical regions of the American continent. Expressionist style of painting is a direct influence from the global language of contemporary art. The Tropicaliserie series plays off contemporary scientific principles, as well as the XXI century architectural understanding of form, color, composition, perspective and space.
